Accepting Content Creator & Outreach/Development
​Fall Internships Applications!

​ Fall internships have a minimum requirement of 10 hours per week that will be completed within a flexible schedule determined prior to beginning the internship. Some work, following training, can be done remotely at the discretion of the team leader.  Interns are required to commit to a 4-5 month internship period. 

No two days in wildlife rehabilitation are the same. Interns must be flexible, dedicated, dependable, and comfortable working within a team setting with fellow interns and volunteers, and with the public. Interns will carry out a weekly set schedule that they are accountable for during the entirety of their internship. 

Content Creator Interns (10 hours/week) We are currently seeking a highly motivated and passionate student intern to join our team and assist with social media. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work directly with our team at our wildlife rehabilitation facility in Candler, NC, and learn essential skills that are crucial for the success of any nonprofit organization.

Responsibilities:
  • Content Creation: Assist in capturing high-quality photos and videos of our wildlife rehabilitation efforts. Document the rescue, rehabilitation, and release stories of the animals we care for. Collaborate with the team to develop engaging and informative visual content.
  • Social Media Management: Help develop social media posts that showcase our wildlife rehab initiatives. Schedule and publish content across various social media platforms. Respond to comments, messages, and inquiries on social media channels. Utilize social media analytics to track engagement and improve content strategy.
Details:
  • The internship requires a commitment of at least 5 months.
  • Start and end dates are flexible to accommodate academic schedules.
  • The intern will work approximately 10 hours per week at the wildlife rehabilitation facility in Candler, NC.
  • Please note that this internship is unpaid, but if eligible, the intern may seek academic credit for the internship with proper documentation from their school.
Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube.
  • Strong photography and videography skills, with experience in editing tools.
  • Creativity and an eye for visually compelling storytelling.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt content for different audiences and platforms.
  • Knowledge of wildlife conservation and rehabilitation is a plus.
  • Graphic design skills or experience with design software are advantageous.

Outreach & Development Interns (10 hours/week) We are currently seeking a highly motivated and passionate student intern to join our team and assist in the areas of outreach, fundraising, and development. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work directly with our development coordinator at our wildlife rehabilitation facility in Candler, NC, and learn essential skills that are crucial for the success of any nonprofit organization. 

​Responsibilities:
  • Outreach: Collaborate with the development coordinator to organize outreach for various events and programs. Represent the organization at community events, fairs, and gatherings to raise awareness and funds for the organization. Build and maintain relationships with local businesses, schools, nonprofits, and other stakeholders. Participate in promotional and educational presentations to promote wildlife rescue and conservation.
  • Fundraising and Development: Assist in donation processing, acknowledgment, and stewardship of donors. Research and identify potential grant opportunities and assist in grant writing. Support fundraising campaigns and events through planning and execution. Learn and employ fundraising strategies to generate support for the organization.

  • Enrolled as a student in a relevant field such as mass communications, business, art, biology, environmental science, or a related area.
  • Passionate about wildlife conservation and/or nonprofit work.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of fundraising principles is a plus but not required.
